Nevertheless, we recognize that it&#8217;s good to let the plucky underdogs win one once in a while, and concede that it was quite the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.collegefootballnews.com\/2005\/Columnists\/Fiu\/SOC\/Rose_Bowl.htm\">entertaining contest<\/a>.  Congratulations to our football-crazy colleagues from the <a href=\"http:\/\/golem.ph.utexas.edu\/~distler\/blog\/archives\/000720.html\">University of Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations also to the Penn State Nittany Lions, whose <a href=\"http:\/\/sports.espn.go.com\/ncf\/bowls05\/bowls?game=orange\">Orange Bowl<\/a> win the previous night extended coach Joe Paterno&#8217;s record number of bowl wins to 21.
