Much good stuff as usual, including a deconstruction of the <a href=\"http:\/\/symmetrymag.org\/cms\/?pid=1000136\">CMS<\/a> experiment at CERN that I <a href=\"http:\/\/preposterousuniverse.blogspot.com\/2005_06_01_preposterousuniverse_archive.html#111824861201647958\">mentioned<\/a> a few weeks ago.  There is also an interview with new Fermilab director <a href=\"http:\/\/symmetrymag.org\/cms\/?pid=1000134\">Pier Oddone<\/a>, who quotes with approval the motto of Chicago architect and planner Daniel Burnham: &#8220;Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men&#8217;s blood.&#8221; Apparently the 21st-century realization of this advice is to build a linear collider.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a tiny contribution by me:  <a href=\"http:\/\/symmetrymag.org\/cms\/?pid=1000143\">extra dimensions in 60 seconds<\/a>.  Okay, so I had to gloss over some details.
