{"id":132,"date":"2005-03-28T11:52:00","date_gmt":"2005-03-28T19:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.preposterousuniverse.com\/blog\/human-rights-report\/"},"modified":"2005-03-28T11:52:00","modified_gmt":"2005-03-28T19:52:00","slug":"human-rights-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/preposterousuniverse.com\/blog\/2005\/03\/28\/human-rights-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Human Rights report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I will go one tiny step further than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.unfogged.com\/archives\/week_2005_03_27.html#003218\">Ogged<\/a> and claim that it actually is funny, and perhaps even ironic:  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2005\/03\/27\/weekinreview\/27word.html?ex=1269579600&#038;en=e63e98c2f81632f8&#038;ei=5090&#038;partner=rssuserland\">China&#8217;s Human Rights Report on the U.S.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>And of course, because this is the internet, the obvious cannot be repeated clearly enough:  yes, the United States has a much better record on human rights than China does, or indeed than many parts of the world.  And the Chinese report is not exactly a paragon of objective analysis.  Doesn&#8217;t mean we&#8217;re perfect, and certainly no reason to be happy about our own situation.
